Voting is the bedrock of our democracy, and it is vital that we give everybody the opportunity to have their voices heard in our elections. Here in NH, a mere 56% of eligible voters voted in the 2018 election. And even worse, only 37% of young adults ages 18-24 turned out to the polls. As state representative, I will put in place measures to make voting easier and more accessible to all. Because ultimately, participating in elections is a key freedom of American life, and it is important for all of us to exercise our right to vote.
Introduce automatic voter registration to register eligible voters whenever they interact with government agencies.
17 Year Old Voting
Allow 17 year olds to vote in primaries if they will turn 18 before the general election.
Establish an independent advisory commission on redistricting to increase voter confidence.
Time off to vote
Require employers to allow employees time off for voting.
Introduce curriculum in schools to teach students how to exercise their civic duties.
